22 Sep Celebrating Success: Team Archery Day
The Newport team recently enjoyed a teambuilding morning at Wye Valley Archery Centre to celebrate a successful year.
The Archery Centre is in the beautiful Wye Valley, surrounded by natural broadleaved woodland and home to the lonely Runston Chapel, which is owned by Cadw.
After receiving a lesson in safe shooting from owner and highly experienced archer Lee Palmer, the team took it in turns to shoot targets – although it took some time, it was satisfying to see how everyone improved over the course of the session!
We were then allowed to move onto the 3D course, which is within the surrounding woodlands. This gave everyone an opportunity to put their new-found skills to the test on an Olympic Standard archery course. After the archery finished the team moved on to a local pub for a late lunch and well-earned rest.

The team had a great day indulging in some friendly competition and learning a new skill. It was a fun way to congratulate them for their hard work and commitment throughout a challenging year.
Senior Ecologist Rosie Sparks commented:
“We all had a really great time, it was lovely to spend some time as a team away from the office and celebrate how well we’ve done over the last year”
